Frank explains his first Las Vegas experience in June of 1984.

"I took some of my college tuition money and went to Vegas to see Dean Martin. He played at the MGM Grand and I tipped my way to the third seat from the stage. His show was fantastic even though it was identical to the one filmed in London that had been on Showtime the previous year. I found out later that Dean's show was the same for many years. To describe what it was like to be at a live show of a great entertainer like Dean or Frank Sinatra (whom I saw in '83 & '84)
would be difficult. It must be experienced. Similar to looking at mountains. They're just not the same in a photograph. After the show I went over to Battista's Hole in the Wall for some Italian food and had a very memorable swordfish dinner while being entertained by the accordion player. He played "That's Amore" for me.

A big fight fan and Golden Glove boxer myself, I bought a ticket to the Hearns-Duran fight at Caesar's. The bout lasted about four and a half minutes with Hearns practically putting the cocky Duran into a coma with a succession of devastating rights. A fight by the way, that I missed. My first day there I didn't properly set my watch to the local time. As I was approaching the gate the fireworks started going off. Tore up my ticket and watched the fight the following week (I believe) on ABC's Wide World of Sports.

The last day and a half I was completely broke thanks to my skill or lack of, at the crap table. Without a credit card and half starved, I managed to get a coupon for a free $2.00 bet at the crap table. I bet the pass line and won several times. It was enough to buy breakfast and (since I missed my bus) a cab ride to the airport. It was a great trip nevertheless and I was hooked"

T
he following shows feature “Mr. Rat Pack” Frank Lamphere:

Frank Lamphere's Ultimate Nightclub Variety Act – This is a very flexible show that can be tailored to the client’s desires. Frank performs with his jazzy trio (piano, bass, drums), his "Killer” quartet (same instrumentation as the previous with the addition of guitar or sax), the Rat Pack Jazz eight piece band (4 rhythm & 4 horns) Other ensemble configurations are available. The sky’s the limit here. (45-90 minutes typical) Great renditions of the songs of Frank, Dean, Sammy, Bobby Darin, Vic Damone, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley (Frank has done 3 hours of Elvis), Engelbert, and some of the hottest instrumentals anywhere!

Many say this is the best show of its kind, anywhere!

Sinatra Spoken Here  45-75 minutes (4-10 piece bands)
There will
be no lame karaoke stuff here. Heavy duty swingin' band. Frank captures the essence of Ol’ Blue Eyes. You won't find better. Guaranteed!

Dean Martin Musical Tribute Show 45-75 Minutes (4-10 piece bands) There is no jet black wavy-haired wig, no cigarette, no Mary Had a Little Lamb vibrato, nor off-colored humor (maybe a drink), but the most satisfyingly authentic Dean Martin vocal stylings this side of the Rio Bravo! Dean is Frank’s favorite singer; he has one of the most thorough Dean Martin record collections in the U.S and hence sings most of Dean’s tunes. As a matter of fact, Lamphere probably has the largest Dean Martin repertoire in the world.
