An exciting hour and fifteen minute show spotlighting the recording career of one of America’s most popular entertainers, Dean Martin. Veteran Chicago crooner and songwriter Frank Lamphere explores Dean Martin’s early years with songs such as: I'll Always Love You, That’s Amore (from the Martin & Lewis movie The Caddy) and You Belong To Me. Frank sings the 50’s hits like: Volare, Return To Me and Memories Are Made of This. He exhibits some great songs that never were hits: Via Veneto, You Look So Familiar, and Rio Bravo from the film of the same name with John Wayne.
Finally, Frank performs the Dean Martin successes of the 1960's. You’ll hear: The Door Is Still Open To My Heart, I Will, and Dean’s theme song Everybody Loves Somebody and many more.
Lamphere, who performs this show with his all star jazz combo has been a regular on the Chicago music scene for a number of years. His long list of credits include: numerous club dates, industrial shows, commercials, being the Friday night vocalist at the “5” star Peninsula Hotel, electrifying big crowds at Jilly’s Naperville when they first opened in 2007 and has on several occasions worked at prestigious Jumpin’ Jazz Ballroom in Milan, Italy. Frank's EP of original jazz vocals "Frank Swings" was released in Feb. 2012.
Lamphere brings to this show, a passion for this classic music genre and particularly for his favorite singer Dean Martin. He also displays an uncanny historical perspective, a sharp wit, and a natural vocal resemblance to Dino that many say, is the best around.
